Glitch in service menu following head replacement?

I just replaced my light magenta head, powered up and went directly into service menu mode to do the software part of it. I went to head replacement, and at the prompt for 'REMOVE SOL CRT.' the numbers 1-12 just blink steadily and the 'busy' led blinks as well. Can't exit or move on. The service menu does not answer for this, it just instructs me to 'go through the following sequences to perform head cleaning and ink filling'. Any idea what the hangup is? I did not do the sheet setup sequence at power-up, could that be the hinderance?

How did it Go? Im going to replace black/blue head on 540V next week. Im doing some research on what can go wrong and what going right looks like. Did you figure out what went bad?

nothing went bad. that is the standard menu sequence when you select 'head replacement'.
