Golf tournament floating letter frame: how to

Got ropped into a meeting about doing some floating letters for a golf tournament.

Can handle the letters but the floating platform not so much. Anyone ever done one before or have any suggestions of how to get it out there and keep it floating?

I would think assemble a crude open bottom aluminum frame that an air bag can be placed into, fill bag until frame is just below surface, then affix frame and letters to shore with ropes or chain for tension to not float away.

Use a polystyrene float with a ply top

wrap with banner pvc

fix letter rail to ply



you will need at lease to ground anchors

Depending on desired durability, either a welded angle frame on top, or made of lumber for just a weekend. Anchor with cables for durable, poly rope for temporary to concrete filled 5 gal buckets with a loop of rebar set in the concrete to attach to.
