Golfing can be painful!

So I decide to take Monday off and play some golf because it was such a beautiful day and all! Well, I'm on the driving range awaiting my tee time, and I take a (very nice) swing with my 6 iron when suddenly I feel a "pop" in my abdomen area and it feels like I've just been stabbed. Turns out I popped one of my free floating ribs out of place and n the physiotherapist's words "sprained my rib quite bad"! He says I won't be golfing for a few weeks at least. Bummer!

I never knew a rib injury could be so painful. Gotta sleep on my back and oh my goodness, the pain if I yawn, sneeze or even worse, hiccup! I'm icing the area as I type this. My wife was dumbfounded tonight when she saw how swollen the one side of my abs are tonight!

I guess it serves me right for playing hookie to go golfing!!

wow..... makes a guy wonder what the heck happend.......

You know you are getting old when you can hurt your self bending over to pick up a quarter.....

take it easy and heal up quick.... and if you arn't going to use your Pro V's send them up here....

i had the 3 ribs just above the floating ribs broken by my father when he punched me i was 13 at the time. never went to doctors, and my rib looks like yours.........all the time. and nothing medical can help mend broken ribs, only TIME. as for layin on your back, dec 26th i had open heart surgery, did 6-8 weeks sleeping that way. just when iam getting to where i can lay on my side, april 17th, i had a heart attack, april 29th, they put in a difb/pacemaker............MORE sleeping on my back. iam getting on roll on my side now for while, bu still cant lay on my stomach, which is were i really liked to sleep..........before all this.

How far did you hit the 6 iron and was it straight?

Good question Bob!! I hit it around 165 yards with a tiny bit of a hook (yes, I did actually keep my eye on the ball as I keeled over in pain LOL)!

LOL... 67lbs less padding!!
I've tried those shoes once before in the store. Made me feel like one of those old plastic clown punching bags that ya can't knock over!!

Wow...... maybe you should do some warm-ups before you go out golfing...... I do before I go drinking. I start out with little ones and then go to doubles and then double-doubles :)
