I'm way over due for this... although I'm not having any issues (knock on wood) I know I should be running some virus / spyware programs. What are the some of the better ones?
I use AVG Free Anti-virus program. It updates nearly daily. Been using it for several years. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/28415/lng/us/tpl/v5

Everyone should be using Windows Defender spyware removal tool. http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
There are others, but those are the ones I've been using successfully for several years now.
