Got my new Contain Mat

Picked this up this weekend. 8' x 19'. It has blow up sides and came with a pump.

painted the floor 2 weeks ago with Epoxy garge floor paint...did 3 coats and 2 vehicles later the stuff was coming off...this is the solution and I really like the inflatable sides which can contain over 100 litres of liquid. With Ice and snow and all the crap they throw on the roads to combat it, the shop would get terribly messy each time a vehicle came in. Now all we have to do is squeegee the crap out the back door.

Since most of us are DIY focused, why not make a banner with extra large pole pockets all sides then take those pool foam noodles and put into the pole pockets

WOW, ding, ding, ding - What a great idea, get two pieces of 48" x 228" black banner material overlap 2" apply some PVC glue along the edge of the overlap, then run it through your industrial sewing machine (I just got one a few months ago) with black thread, sew pole banner pockets around the perimeter and use the softer (squash-able) 7/8" I.D. black pipe insulation (1/2" wall thickness) inside the pole pockets, so you can drive over it and it will spring back to shape.

My Harley has a small oil leak, I think I'll make a sample containment mat the size of the Harley to test the concept and save my garage floor.

QUESTION: You say the epoxy paint is coming off after only two vehicles, so how did you prepare the floor prior to applying the epoxy paint?

Not that I am an expert, however I read you need to do a acid wash first so the epoxy paint will bond o the concrete.

This one has some form of banner material with a pebbled other banner material somehow fused together.... I considered just using banner, but for $200.00, may as well just buy it ready made.

Not that I am an expert, however I read you need to do a acid wash first so the epoxy paint will bond o the concrete.

No I did not prepare it other than giving it a good cleaning. I watched a PPG video about concrete and all the possibilities of failure and figured that I was not going to go through all the extra expense and time commitment if it wasn't 100% going to work. The mat will solve the problem and best of all contain the melting liquids which make their way to the drain far across the floor under my work table and around a wall.
