Gradient problem

I'm trying to do a 72" banner and the text is too long and wont let me put a drop shadow on it.. What can i do to make a drop shadow this large? Blending works right? but im not sure exactly how.

half scale would work but what do i do when i am ready to print the file? Would I rasterize it?

depends on the method of production, mainly your rip. but yeah if you need to, a half raster at 150dpi turns to 72 at full scale
