Art has a gradient that is banding (see attached jpgs)
The file was made in Corel X3, Converted to curves, using CMYK colors.
Exported as EPS in opened in the RIP to print.

The left image is the print, the right one is a screenshot of the file in Corel

As a general rule of thumb, never try to print gradients with a decent color shift in vector format unless you rasterize the gradient layer. It's not worth the hair pulling IMHO.

What if you have a file from a print shop, .tiff, and there is lettering over the graident fill. My Mutoh prints all ok but the gradient has banding where the colors blend. This file was created in Photoshop, but was sent to me flattened so I can't work on it. Any ideas?

Draw a box and fill it with the fountain fill. No outlines. Convert to RGB bitmap and power clip it into the vector.
