Gradients not printing right in Flexi???

Ok, so I had to reload Flexi 8 a couple weeks ago. Now I have a big issue. My gradients don't print out right. I can print out 100% cyan, and it comes out ok. But when I print something right next to it that is a gradient from white to 100% cyan, it comes out as a goofball greenish-blue. Any idea why my gradients won't print like they should?

I'm sure it's just a setting....... somewhere..............

I always have problems printing gradients in flexi. Now I export to Versaworks, and that clears up the problem. It seems as though Flexi is becoming quite useless to me any more.

It didn't do this before I reloaded the program, so it has to be something simple.

A couple of settings.

Make the gradient CMYK, not RGB. A gradient is one of the few, perhaps the only, times you want to deal in CMYK.

Next make sure the Smooth Blends setting in the Rip and Print and/or the printer's job properties is set to either 'Enhanced' or 'Super'. Anything but the 'Normal' setting.

Make the gradient CMYK, not RGB.

That's the first thing I'd check.

The colors I chose were all CMYK... I'm using a CMYK color palette.

Let me guess your color is a spot color?, or check your rendering intents for gradients...gradients get a different processing in flexi. than spots, Just another example of flexi screwing up colors...

No spot colors, just using a CMYK color palette and a Corel color palette.

Not sure about v8, but in 7 you can choose CMYK colors to make up the gradient and still have the Gradient Color Mode set to RGB. Check the Gradient Tab.

Sounds like you previously changed your Rendering intent and they are now back to the defaults if you reloaded the program.

Ah.... it was on RGB. I'll try with everything under CMYK and see how it works. 4 little cute colored dots, not 2, right?
