One of our major clients is a state university and they're looking to replace an existing banner on one of their building facades.
They're thinking around 14x18ft vinyl (not mesh).
We primarily do digital/offset/mailing as well as some basic signage (i.e. indoor signs, corro, nothing fancy) so I/we have no experience with pricing large stuff like this, much less installation and removal.
The only reason we're offering to help out with facilitating this project is because we have a great relationship with this particular client.
I've already found local companies who will take care of the printing/removal/install.
Still waiting on formal estimates.
How should I handle pricing on this?
We can do our typical % markup but since Im unfamiliar with the market Im not sure what typical retail prices are.
Should we markup the removal/installation costs as well or just tack on a few hundo and be happy for the little profit?
Any thoughts on if we should just put the client directly in touch with the installers and let them sort it out themselves?
It'd be nice to make some money off the project but then again, it's a PITA being the middle person considering we don't really know what we're doing in this case...
