Graphics 4b help

Hi, have had a second hand graphics 4b with a Unilink interface for about 5 years.. Only bought it for the pounce facility. First had the wrong cable but now believe have the correct one. Have tried setting it up as com 1 , 2 and other variations, using flexi sign 6.5 but all I get is ..error cannot open port.... have tried playing with the handshaking, parity etc, any idea which settings I should have. I believe when I switch it on need to select online using the font button?
Any other ideas. Have had it running on it's own, not connected to coputer so assume machine is OK.

I cant say for sure, but I used to have my sprint hooked up through my comp with a signlab fast board, although that was windows 3. I wonder if the fast board is capable of running on newer versions of windows?

Hi Pete from snowy Bridgend, Wales.

Reading your post seems to indicate the problem is with your PC and not Fexi. I'm guessing you've checked the obvious on your PC e.g. right click the My Computer icon on your desktop choose Properties and then Hardware/Device manager then expand the Ports item in the list and double click the COM port etc etc.

This should tell you if the port is working correctly and how it's configured.

Many modern PCs don't have COM ports and the USB converters can be a PITA. I've always found it better to fit an I/O car internally.

Good luck

Yes I suppose it could be a compatibility problem.
I have checked in device manager and all seems to be OK. What is an I/O car? if you can excuse my ignorance.

A 4b Woohoo
I can't remember when I last used one of those!!!
Why can't you just type it all in on the led screen.....LOL
I have a friend who is a sceen printer who still has a 4b still I will see if his connected to a computer.
I know he was still using it as it has a tangental head and can cut some real small stuff.

Are you still having issues with your 4b??
