Graphtec fc7000 moving too fast

Friday my cutter was working fine. This morning when I load material in it as soon as it goes to find the edges the carriage moves about 6 inches really fast and sets off a y alarm. I have tried everything I can find or think of and nothing works. Please someone give me an idea of what it could be.

Have you tried positioning the carriage in the middle before starting the media detection? If my 7000 carriage is too close to the edge of the machine it does that as well

yes I have tried it in several different positions and it does the same thing. I just spoke to a tech and they said it's probably the motor but could be the motherboard. The motor is out of production so I would have to find a used one.
