So I was cutting some Romark 1/8" substrate unit signs for an apartment complex and decided to turn the laser to 100% power because I've been having issues of it not cutting all the way through the material and having to do multiple runs on lower power (40%). I noticed a small fire on top of the laser and immediately shut off the machine. After some cleaning with q tips it seems to be some kind of plastic or rubber gasket which I removed because it was melted. The laser still runs fine apparently but I was wondering how necessary this piece is and if it's safe to run the laser while I order the part to replace it. Thanks!
