Hi and Good day. Im Bryan. Just want to ask, coz im having problems printing grays, theyre quite grainy. but other colors prints smoothly. im using a Roland sc-545ex, Design in Adobe Illustrator (used Roland Color System Library for the gray) then print using an updated Versaworks. Ive tried different brands of media and same thing happens. Used the correct profile as well.. is there any workaround through this? Thanks in advance!

Grey will always print grainy on digital printers since you're relying on white vinyl and black dots to mix in your head to create grey. Only thing to get it SLIGHTLY less grainy is to set those jobs to unidirectional but the print speed is significantly lower. Good luck.

Check your bi-directional calibrations. In photos and many process color vector scenarios, grays produced using all four inks CMYK, and not only K. Some of the Roland Color System grays are however based on percentage of K only, and this can tend to produce a more banded result, depending on the state of your K printhead(s). Deflected and missing nozzles will be quite visible in this case.
