ROLAND XC-540 versaworks firmware and versa up to date.

I need some expert help. I was on the phone with roland for 4 hours yesterday and the tech. had no idea what to do. the pictures I am posting show the folowing problems the grey is printing as if the K is not being printed and this is causing the magenta tone. FIRST PIC the part next to the blue on the bottom is what the print should look like the top one is what the printer is doing. the second picture is what a grey carbonfiber print is printing like. the problem started after i had one of the heads suck air so I used s syringe and sucked ink into head through the capping station. printed test print fine also printed test print from the machine using versaworks and printed color chip chart both of which printed fine. the problem seems to be when Grey shading is involved any ideas would be greatly appreciated.please call me if you have an idea.
Thanks in advance Ben

Going by the first image, it doesn't seem to me that your not printing the black channel but that your printing a different color completely. The shade of gray that's supposed to be there doesn't have that amount of magenta in it IMHO.

Looking at you third image, the circled sections (in my upload) seem to show the same situation your experiencing in your print. The black box on the swatch may be only using the K cartridge to that test and not a mixture of the 4 colors. This may be why it's not being affected.

Maybe a profile issue. Have you tried using a different one?

Ok I have found somthing odd

I was going through each collor trying to identify which color or print head i was having the problem with and found somthing verry unusual. MY White is printing with magenta. White should have no ink at all. Yet when I print a plain white square, eps file the white prints a light magenta shade.HELP :thankyou: In advance I am totally baffled.

Do you have color correction on in Flexi?

Seems when I have color correction on...Grays are very hard to hit...
with it off, most colors match great, but then too much ink - real heavy.

Sounds like a profile problem to me.

Rip softwares. Flexi production manager and VersaWorks. I have tried using 4 different profiles in each software with same result.:jr: I pretty sure there is some king of printer problem. Any other Ideas?:thankyou:
