We lost our grandson this week... his mommy was still carrying him (she was at about 20 weeks) and she started having some problems. He was delivered at 12:37 am on Dec. 20th and never got to take a breathe. Our hearts are breaking. It was her first child.

We feel so lost. I don't know how to make this better for her - and she's in another state. Thank goodness her mom and brother are there for her (she is my stepdaughter), but it's all I can do to stop the real Bigdawg from racing up to Michigan... he's just in no shape to travel at all. There's nothing we can do to make this okay for her.

I just wanted to tell my friends here to hold their kids close. Hug them once for us... make sure you let them know how much you love them. We will never get to hold the precious baby we lost, but he will always be in our hearts.

Heard some bad news myself, this morning, as well as the potential of some looming in the new year. Seems to add that much more perspective and weight to the season. Best wishes to you and your family. And here's hoping your stepdaughter gets to eventually build the family she wants.

heartbreaking for you and your family. my daughter went thru this a few years back and the saddness of the loss is and always will be with us. three years ago this jan 28th, she brought into this world our little Evan. it will always be on our minds that there should have been an older child welcoming the birth of a little brother. I'm sure that Evan has a little angel looking after him and that little angel has bright red hair like his little brother. I am so sorry this happened to you and your family
