GX-640 not cutting correctly on side.

I have a Roland GX-640. I have recently started having an issue where my cutter cuts too deep on the side near the control panel and not deep enough everywhere else. If I increase the force enough to cut deep enough everywhere, then I cut all the way through near the control panel. The cutting strip isn't obviously damaged, but could that be causing the problem? Is there a calibration that I need to do? Any help would be appreciated. I'm down until I figure this out.

Thanks,
Jeff

I would try the cutting strip- not that expensive and can cause strange problems. I have a GX500 and alway keep a spare on hand. I see you
are from Buda- one of my old customers (tow truck guy) moved to Buda and beat me out of a few hundred dollars... and then died. Karma? Gene

I've got one on order shipped via priority overnight. Hopefully it will be here Monday. I called roland tech support and they said that it was probably the cutting strip as well. I'll post the results once the new one comes in. Ordered a spare as well. Thanks for the help.

I was able to get this resolved. It was as simple as adjusting the blade guard. By setting it so that the blade couldn't cut any deeper than necessary, it resolved the issue reliably. I'm happy again. :)
