Alright, so I have seen a few awesome toonart designs lately on here so last night I figured I would try my hand at doing something like that.

I debated ever putting it on here not because of the ripping it will take but... because, I'm not a pro in this area and didn't want anyone to think I thought I was. Just had some time and wanted to push myself a bit.

I guess what I am looking for is a chance for the pros to tell me where and how to best add highlights and detail and the overall finishing process to something like this. I did the drawing in illustrator.

Anyway, Here it is.
thanks
Eric

The part I would get rid of foremost is the shadow/reflection. It does not make sense. Also need to work on getting the wheels/tires smoother.

I ain't no pro, your reflection is wrong. Always keep your light source in mind. Over all it looks good a few tweaks and it'll be there. Keep playin.

K here is my original... I'm interested in knowing how to add those highlights in... are they drawn with the paint brush tool (which seems obvious) or ... are there other tools better for the job.

Highlights are usually done with gradients, blends and gradient mesh tools. I prefer the all black car. The stairstepped highlights bother me
