Just Me
So I get up this morning to no internet... nothing new (I hate Brighthouse), so I call and they tell me a line has been cut in our neighborhood... could be up to 48 hours to repair...

which of course sends me into panic mode... no internet... no cable... etc.
I just called my son-in-law and asked him to see if everything was back on yet... he answered "no - but they are in front of the neighbor's working on it... they have his yard tore all to hell..." and tells me who it is...

And I laugh... because this particular neighbor has been the bane of any happy existence for years... he used to complain about the neighborhood kids, but heaven forbid you complain about any of his six dogs... just a general all-around schmuck.

But it gets better... he ends up chatting with one of the guys out there fixing the cable...

Not only is he going to have to pay a couple thousand dollar repair bill to the cable company... they automatically turn him over to be prosecuted/fined for violating the "no dig without calling for markers" law.. (or something to that effect - not sure how that works).

Sometimes karma does swing the rght way... now they better have it fixed before I get home LOL...

So he was digging and hit their buried line? They will go easy if he is the homeowner digging in his own yard though. Now if he were a contractor, he'd be hung.

We have a property split by a 2 lane public road. I decided to shoot some conduit under there, hillbilly style, to get some electric for our lake side. So I start digging my holes on each side. Couldn't believe it when I found a huge fiber optic cable about 18" down from the surface. I didn't hit it but I always call now.

it would be even better if he was digging to install a sign that you gave him the good neighbor discount on, & he was so cheap he blew you off & did it himself hahahahaha
