Siser ColorPrint Extra its used for digital printing and then heat press onto shirts any opinions would be appreciated




This printable digital material is designed for use with your printer/cutter to create full color transfers that can be applied to a wide variety of items with a heat-press including nylon bags, backpacks, umbrellas and leather jackets. ColorPrint™ Extra is great for beginners since it goes on anything, is easy to cut and even easier to weed because of its polyester backing. ColorPrint™ Extra is designed for use with all types of printer/cutters, Eco-Solvent, Solvent and Thermo Resin. .

Print positive image and cut material. Let dry from 4 to 6 hours before weeding.

Testing:always test on a fabric swatch prior to production, especially on heavily treated fabrics.

Application instructions. Heat press for 12-14 sec 330F/165C at light pressure. Use application tape or teflon sheet.

Washing instructions. Turn garment inside out. Machine wash COLD with mild detergent. NO bleach. Dry at a normal dryer setting on household machines. Do not dry clean. Instructions apply to the material only, please follow garment washing instructions as well.
Areas Of Use : Decoration of garment and other items made from nylon,cotton, polyester,poly/cotton blends, lycra and spandex, leather.
Outdoor Durability : -Factory tested of 21 washes and still providing vivid colours.

I've never tried the Siser material, but I've used several rolls of Colorprint from here > > > http://specialtymaterials.com/index.php?page=colorprint-solvent

I use the cps2160 for the ecosol roland printer. It's rated for 30-50
washes if I remember right.
Prints great, transfers with regular transfer tape, and holds up well.
I did get a box of the paper to put between the image and press.

The main drawbacks for me are the cost of the material, and the feel
of the image. If you can keep the size of the image down to something
like 6" x 11" it helps with costs. On lightweight t's it feels like a patch on
your back, but don't notice it on heavier garments.

You can print full color with it which is nice. Keep the graphics simple, it's
a little rubbery when weeding, so intricate artwork won't work very well.

The siser may be just as good. The Roland brand didn't hold up for me
at all. Had customers telling me the prints were flaking off after only three washes.

Charge plenty...it gets time consuming.

We've used the QEP from Rite Media a fair bit, did a bunch of hoodies for our shop last year with them and they still look brand new after about 25-30 washes

I have never used it, but that stuff has many adherents in the shirt forums.
They seem to love it.

I also use the colorprint solv...


The cost is the kicker its so expensive for the little amount of material you recieve.


I'm getting some samples of a new product.. T-PRINTs from Harborsales.

the rep says it work just as good as the Colorprint solv and its a ton cheaper.


ANYONE TRIED THE T-PRINTS??

i've used the colorprint for specialtymaterials as well...i print on an edge, so i'm already limited to size....

the material prints great and holds up very well...but is heavy on the shirt, and feels like a patch/transfer....if doing single color design work, i would suggest using stahls thermoflex....8sec press and hot peel....compared to colorprints 30sec press and cold peel...

the other thing i did notice with colorprint, is if you're going to use it, get the special transfer tape...i've had issues with the print dulling down when i used reg. trans tape...

if you need full color designs and in a qty...i'd contact someone with a dtg for a direct print...much nicer feeling and more professional looking in my opinion...

I'm using TPrints. The stuff is amazing. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.

Basically it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
One small problem is ink transfer off the print when you remove the application tape.

Also, not good for small text. Mainly only large images, but if you stay within the restrictions of the material, it's great. .

ColorPrint Solvent/Ecosol Material First time use.

I just purchased the ColorPrint Solvent/Ecosol Material and I have a Mimaki CJV30-130.
Is there a certain profile to use when printing on this material? Would appreciate the help.

I like the Sihl heat transfer material. Works great in the latex printers too.

I use 3M SCPC100 and it works great.. now i have l26500 but before with roland vp540 the ink transferring off happened because the ink wasnt dry at the same day. I use 1-2 rolls/month (chemica easyprint) with avery and 3M transfer tapes.

Dirty Baby, try the MPVC profile, it works for the Stahl's express print which is very similar the same paper.
