Have to reboot computer as info won't send out for print

This is not my problem but a friends who just bought his first printer. I am called to help him through issues. I found more than a few times while trying to send out jobs for print and jobs for cutting that the info never leaves the computer. Both machines are hooked up via USB. I found that if I reboot the computer, then the info goes. What causes that and how can it be remedied?

you will almost certainly find that the print spooler service has crashed.
although it has been several years that 64 bit printing is standard certain manufacturers still release unstable print drivers (konica/minolta, can you hear me talking about you?)
make a desktop shortcut to services, go down to print spooler, double click, or choose properties.
restart the spooler & hopefully you can avoid restarting the pc
it generally doesn't do much good to play with recovery options

if this keeps happening there is an article about deleting files in spooler folders for that printer in a windows directory
