Having problem with fill

Hello,,I am having a problem with filling a rectangle with color or even a circle. I do not know what is wrong. When I hit the color to fill with , it does nothing but when I go to edit it has undo fill, like it has done the fill. Then when I go to print preview It is black. Any help is appreciated.

Check your view...if you are in wireframe you won't see your fills or strokes.

face-palm if you are in wireframe or outline view.

That was it . I was in simple wireframe, so I put it on normal and now it works.
