Hazing in optically clear laminate

Hey All,

We've been trying a few different brands of optically clear lam the last year or so. Avery, Oracal and other brands. No matter what we do they lam is really hazy. Not what you'd think optically clear should be.

Various sales people have told us it will go away, but I'm not so certain. It seems the only lam that doesn't do this is 3M's version but it super expensive.

Right now we're on a roll of Oracal which seems to be the worst of the lot. You can even see lines on the front of the perf. from the squeegee.

I apologize if I haven't provided adequate info. I'm really just posting this for my co-workers who told me to ask you all. Oh and yes, I did a search. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem?..

Thanks!

There isn't silvering from laminating. The perf looks fine after laminating. It's after application of the perf on the vehicle that it looks weird and when you look out of the vehicle through the perf it's super hazy.

Here's the best pic I could get. Which isn't good at all. If you look at the top right you can kind of see the marks left by squeegeeing. Standing back from the perf it looks all blotchy (which you can see a bit of in the pic) and you can see very obviously where the squeegee has passed.

and yes OCRACAL 290CF lam. but we've had the same problem with Avery and others. Weird.
