Head is Leaking

I have a Roland SP-540V...it's about 6 years old and is used daily...moderate use...

Blue ink is literally dripping from the head...

I am hoping that I am wrong but it would seem to me that the head is shot...
I would love to hear that I am wrong... :(
Anybody know what is wrong (and am I right)...? Please...?

Change your dampers! Just had a brand new head put in our JV33 with new dampers, and within 3 days one of the black dampers went bad and caused black ino to drip as well. Changed them and all is good.

I just have to say... everytime I look back at the titles, I laugh my butt off when I read this one................. :ROFLMAO: head leaks........... :ROFLMAO: Is it still leaking ??
I'm sorry, I just can't get over laughing. It sounds like a serious problem regardless of which head is leaking, but I just.......... :ROFLMAO: can't help myself.

?????????????????????????? Is it me or...............???????

it may well be a shot damper in the capping station............however.....

i had overspill and alot of magenta ink over flowing from my damper last week. i cleaned the damper and around the capping station etc. i had noticed the magenta level was unusually low so checked it when i was doing a manual cleaning. checked it again on wednesday and same thing.....lots over over spill of ink in the capping station so figured my damper was bad. what i did though was take off the lines from the damper to the pump/drainage bottle.

i got a syringe and attached the ink lines from the dampers towards the pump/draiange bottle and flushed cleaning fluid through them several times(a messy job!!!)....took about 20-30 mins all in all to get it done and back together with alot of cleanup from the ink.

wasn't sure if that was the issue but....checked yesterday and it was perfect, just checked half an hour ago and again, absolutly perfect, spotlessly clean! so, looked like i had a blockage or dry ink build up in the tubes that run to the pump/draiage bootle.......

maybe try this as an option.

Can anyone give a photo diagram of how to change the dampers? I am having a similar issue, intermittently. I've never done it nor seen it done.

OK...I just replaced the dampers (all 4 of them) and The blue one looked a little funky and leaked more than the others when I removed it...

HOWEVER...When I turned the machine back on it is telling me that the TEMPERATURE IS TOO LOW"...??????????

WTF is that...?

As it turns out the temp is read from the head and I have a burned out head fuse on the main board...
Now I am looking to have the main board repaired...
Anyone know of a good place to have it done, hopefully fairly close to Florida...?
Right now I am thinking about Macmedia thru ebay...

Have you tried Florida Graphic Supply? (727) 461-7600 They are in Clearwater... their techs can do it. George is a real good guy that serviced the machine where I used to work...
