Head Replacement on my Mutoh?

Steve, I do not think that the heads from nationalparts.com mentioned by tomence will work in your printer. I know that they will work in the FOJ printer, but that is a 4 color printer. The tech support number for Mutoh is 1-800-996-8864. Ask for Chuck.

Did not talk to Chuck, but the fellow who answered his phone told me that
the 3 color print head for the Junior is the same as the print heads on the
Falcon Outdoor 46. It will then also be the same as the heads on the Falcon
Outdoor 62 that bayshorecreations has.

And, Oh Happy Day! While going through My manual, I found, tucked back
in the pockets of the binder cover, an easy to read and understand
"Falcon Outdoor Printhead Replacement Procedures" step by step from
'performing the head wash' to 'perform unidirictional electronic head alignments.' There IS a God!

This was sent to me by Ron at Signwarehouse back in '07. I guess he had
forgotten when I talked to him a few days ago. I had forgotten as well.

Thanks for all the help guys!

Looks like you are on your way. Ill trade you a walk through by phone for some new fancy fonts. LOL

I'll remember your offer...

One other question. In the CMYK Parts video on damper replacement,
they show how to draw ink back into the dampers with a syringe. Is it necessary to flush the system before head replacement if you use
this method?

No you do not have to flush the system. Just replace them and pull a little ink through and you will be fine.

Well, I have the instructions.
I can still get pretty good prints on most jobs. I will order the heads next
week. I will also need a capping station. So it may be a while until I
actually jump on this. I will let you know.

Clarification...Printheads...

Yup they are the same then. Cant beat there prices, I picked up a spare pair of them just to have on hand because of the price. These are the same exact heads you will get from anywhere else.

For clarification...you guys are saying these printheads will work in a Mutoh Falcon 62"....which is also same as a Prismjet 62".....Right?

(price on heads just seems to good to be true!)

Wow! This is an old thread. I finally got around to this task that has been
hanging over me for months. It went pretty smooth, and thanks to Slightly
Chilled, who offered support and affirmation by phone a few times during the
process. And the heads from National ARE the same heads and I am getting
really nice prints now. So pleased to get the out of the way. I was not nearly
the ordeal I had feared. Thanks to everyone who offered advice and info.

The heads that used to to available from National Parts http://www.nationalparts.com/product.aspx?ProductID=47655
is no longer. But the head is made by Epson. I'd try first calling them. You
could try contacting National through the link above and ask if they can
give you a contact at Epson for that part.
If you have any luck, Please be kind enough
to share it with us.

You won't be able to buy heads from Epson or any Epson dealer without a valid Epson printer serial number (one that used the appropriate model of head). Epson locked down the supply a couple years ago; National was probably one of the last companies that was still selling the Epson heads without restrictions.

It's really just Mutoh or Roland now. There are a lot of overseas suppliers buying through the regional dealers, who charge less, but then you have to deal with a relative unknown to get the heads.
