Suggestions Heater settings affecting vinyl feeding out?!

We changed heater settings on out Roland xc540 and it affected the vinyl outfeed after sending a job to the printer. Why does it do this?? After we went back to the default settings the vinyl feed was fine again

if you warm up your vinyl to much it will stretch more. so you feed less
