I work for a slot machine manufacturer and have been asked to learn more about what is needed to safely install / service the large displays sometimes found above the banks of machines in casinos.
I have seen the displays lifted into place using, what we refer to as, the sign jacks or pump jacks. I have searched online for quite some time trying to find where they could be purchased but, haven't found anything; anyone have any ideas?

Look up a local equipment rental company They can either rent it to you or point you in the direction of where to buy them

You might be thinking of a Genie material lift. They kind of look like a manual forklift.

I'm guessing that you would want to be doing this inside a casino in Atlantic City. Check with the casino management FIRST because I'm 99% sure you would need to have union people to do this, especially if it's electrical - i.e. a neon or LED sign like those often seen above banks of one armed bandits. IBEW Local 351 is the electrical local in that area. Don't you also need a contractors license, casino control commission approval, building/electrical permits, sealed plans etc.? On our last job at the A.C. shopping area, we even had to get sealed mounting plans for pin-mounted letters behind the cash-wrap inside the store.

This. Fabricating for the casinos is one thing. Installing in AC is a totally different animal. Be careful.
