Welcome form Texas, I lived in So Cal during the '60's, graduated from high school in '67, we were always out on the street cruising Whittier Blvd. and sometimes would drive all the way down to Santa Fe Springs! In those days you could cruise all night, see and be seen, we would listen to Wolfman Jack on the radio.

A local band, Thee Midniters even recorded a song about cruising Whittier Blvd, when ever I hear it, reminds me of cruisin' on those warm So Cal nights long ago!!

:Welcome:

Thats awesome! I actually live in Whittier but work in SFS. And I have seen Thee Midnighters live with Little Willy G at the SFS swap meet when I used to work there. They were great. A friend of mines dad played guitar in the Blue Satins. You ever heard of that group? I believe they were from the same area as Thee Midnighters. Thanks to everyone else for the welcome! This is a great community to be a part of.

Wow, that brings back even more memories, Yes - I do remember the Blue Satins, I saw them preform at the Kennedy Hall on Atlantic Blvd in 1965 along with Lil Ray (see link below), who was the headliner with his big hit "I Who Have Nothing".

Another band from the East LA area who made the charts with their hit, "Land of 1000 Dances", was Cannibal & The Headhunters.
