Hi all, my name is Jon, I've been reading your posts for a few weeks now, and signed up for some help.
I started a print and advertising company in Cardiff 2 years ago, and business is booming!! 5 months ago, i bought a second shop, a print and copy shop, expanding my services and products tremendously. 1 month ago, i bought the entire stock and some equiptment from another sign company which went bust, UK signz, and acquired a Roland cj-500 which is converted to eco solvent. This is where my problem is.... the machine was neglected, Ive stripped it, cleaned it, fixed tank leaks, unblocked all the pipes, ordered new print heads and dampers and got the cutter to work. My last thing to do is replace a blown heat controller, i tried repairing it, as ink had leaked onto the main heat PCB and in turn blew the controller.... i noticed a small component that has cracked so will opt for buying a new one.... but there's so many on the internet, and as its a conversion, I'm not sure which one to get!! i will post this question in the appropriate thread soon.
But back to me and my company.... i have been gaining larger and larger jobs every month for some time, some of which include 35 hgv's and trailers for D&A, who deliver newspapers all over the UK, and TNT, which have contracted D&A.... more recently i was hired by poppy signs to help wrap a coach for the capitol one final (football), it was the Swansea coach plus 10 other coaches fitted with contravision.
My original company is mainly business to business, and the second is mainly passing trade.
I have plans to expand both over the next 12 months, introducing art workshops, photography studios, Ariel photography and one I'm very excited about, printed vehicle wraps and shops signs. This week i have gained the help of prolazer, who specialise in laser cutting metal, who will produce 3D profile cut signage, which takes my services that step further.
