Help! File format not supported

We were working on a file last night, tried to export it, and flexi froze up. This happens alot, but this time it asked if we wanted to save before closing. Of course we said yes, but now when we try to open the files..all of them that were open at that time...they ALL say "file format not supported"...even though they are all .fs files.

Any help?? Thanks so much!

I am not sure why...but all of the files that were open at that time are now empty. These were files that we have had for a while, so they weren't new files.

I am really confused!!

What version of Flexi? This was a known issue some versions of 6.x and early versions of 7.x if I remember correctly.

I have also had this happen, more than once. I can't find any reason for it happening but it's VERY frustrating and scary. I have been fairly lucky and not lost too much info, but last time I did loose about two hours worth and was never able to retrieve it.

Just for giggles, try copying and pasting the file in a different folder, I have had this work in Flexi 7.6 with .pdf files.

I used to have trouble with this back with v5 or v6. Opening a new file and importing the bad file seemed to work. Sometimes I had to do this every time I wanted access to the file; every time I'd subsequently save the new file you created the problem would follow it.

To add to my last post, I found that many times when Flexi would crash like this it was because certain objects were grouped or combined. A lot of times if I was able to reopen the file and ungroup a bunch of objects, it would save normally and be fine.
