HELP for SP540V

I have a job printing an I want to reposition one of the pinch roller to finish the job because it's almost out of the media. If I lift the pinch roller handle to relase the pinch rollers it will cancel the job ... is there a way I can move that pinch roller without cancelling the job and having to reprint it ?

My printer is on pause right now ... waiting for an answer

Thanks for your help

I can't think of any way to lift the roller up without tripping the sensor but I have run into the same situation you are in. Usually you can just let the roller run off he media and, as long as the print doesn't have too much left to print, it should be fine. If you have a lot left to print, you're probably out of luck.

I have between 1 1/2 and 2 feet left ... I'm a bit scared to let to roller go off the media.
I'll wait a bit to see if someone has an idea on how to do it but if nobody does, I'll give it a try !

If you will decide to let it go and not to reprint - stay there and watch it. You don't want your media to buckle up in the printer and get a head strike, which may result in way more expensive fixes compare to vinyl+ink

That's a very good point.

Thanks

Tape on a piece of scrap. We've done it.

Another trick related to running out of media is the rear Interrupt Sensor. Printer will stop feeding when media clears the opening on right rear of platen. Cover with a piece of masking tape and it will keep printing.

We run the exact same printer.
