For an update on a previous thread I found the trailing cable was torn in multiple places. Does anyone happen to know what type of cable this is I did a little research but am not completely sure if i want to struggle to find an overpriced one on the internet or the whole trailing cable system, id rather just try look to get just the length of wire redone. Cable has E164618 (UL) TYPE CL2 75'C 28 AWG PC10 LTK Cable. I know CL2 is fire rating to 75 degrees Celsius AWG is gauge and LTK is the manufacturer in china, But its just a multicore cable with that's braided and screened right?

It moves millions of times and there is heat as well.
About 4.5m I think.
Seems to me the thickness/sturdiness also has something to do with it as the other cable that runs along side it was perfect must be a defect I this line of printers probably why there's new models

Yeah the other cable only has two leads inside, this one has like 20?, shielding etc etc. No wonder it can't take the same beating as the other one.
BTW same cable and same issue in newer 100/300/500-series.

I found a cable manufacturing specialist is South Africa and simply had mine re-made. Look around in your area, you’re bound to have somebody who build cable for industry use. My aftermarket cable has lasted longer than the original.
I'm looking but no luck so far you wouldn't happen to recall the name at all?

I have more details at the office, but if I recall correctly I gave them my cable and told them they could use the original plugs, but I think they actually sourced the correct version.

There is a guy in the UK who has remanufactured cables. He sells on ebay. They are not cheap as the connectors are very very costly.
You should know there are 2 styles of ends so you need to get the right one.
One has pins, one are a the pins but molded into a plastic block.
There are not Interchangable.
A quick and cowboy solution which works well is to reverse the cable.
It you inspect it you will see 1/2 the length has cracks. This is the moving part. The other is in good condition, as it does not move.
As the ends are identical it can be removed and turned round the carriage end now connecting to the electronics module, and the em now fitted to the carriage.
All this can be done without totally removing the tube system, if you think about it, and should not take to long.
Provided the cable has not failed this will work fine.
I will make a video showing the whole process next time I do it.
