The forum thumbnail view of the first photo incorporates a border around the photo, and I thought it might look appealing on the logo itself.

Quit buggin' me
Will the final version have some color in it?
It is very plain looking now.
I'm still working on my snarking merit badge so I'll leave it at that.

Our main business is monument engraving and color is my "handicap". I've always heard that if it works in B & W, it should work in color.

I'd be interested in some color ideas.

A town crier since the tagline is your voice.

I know it's a quick sketch, but here are some things I noticed
  1. One "i" has a round dot, the other is square.
  2. The town crier idea is good, but in the current layout of the logo it becomes way too small to be seen from a distance.
  3. Helvetica can look really slick on its own, but not like this. I would start by experimenting with weights.
  4. "Communication" and "Resources" are too similar in letter height. Needs more contrast. Try using the Golden Ratio as a minimum for any differences in font size.
  5. Four lines of text in a logo is not a sustainable idea. You'll have to change it as soon as the company decides to get an office. Imagine 4 lines of text on a 17"H fascia.
  6. Use bullet points instead of hyphens.
  7. Short phrases. That aren't sentences. Was trendy a few years ago.
