Hey OP...some of my pottery.

A few of the pieces that I still have around. Getting them down to photograph
makes me want to get back into it again. I haven't worked in clay for around
10 or more years.

These are all stoneware cone8 wheel thrown. I formulated the glazes myself.

OP, your post about "getting it up" made me think about it.

AWESOME WORK!!!!!! love it. i got 3 small pieces from back in 75-78.
i want to make my own glazes but i need to get the "glaze/firing" room built onto the 24x30 shop. its on a separate electric meter and a full 200 amp service. much easier to keep track of firing cost.

This is the only remaining photo of ceramics I made in my senior year of H.S. I still have the tea pot. I shaped that free hand using a coil method. The double decker box was made free hand using a slab method and the coil snake handles on top were hand made as well.

Great stuff OP. Those look gas fired. Is that a candle holder? Love that glaze.
Mine are fired electric. Glazes are sprayed, dipped, poured, brushed and stamp.

it was all electric fired. nice site great stuff. the far right piece? is a votive candle holder, really makes some wild looking shadows when its the only light.

Steve I love how those have an almost Victorian feel. Very graceful stuff.
Joe I think pottery is your true calling.
I did some ceramics in High School but to be honest never liked the colors of the glazes.
This is a box (the requirement was texture) from high school which I painted with acrylics for ceramics, I got a bad grade because I did not glaze it.
Just slab pottery and like playing with Play-Doh to make all the little people.
It's dated by the Mr. Bill on it.
It's about 4"x6"x4" tall.

Great stuff!
I actually got into sign painting because of my interest in wheel thrown pottery.
I took some extra lessons from a guy who's primary income was painting & carving signs,
and he talke me into going into sign painting. Thanks Frank, wherever you are!
