Remove the white so the brick shows through?
In Corel 4. I am quite stumped.

Draw your shape with the pen tool and then "trim".......

arrange/shaping/trim

Turn it all black and make a compound path out of it. That is how it would be
in flexi and AI at least.

Select both the white and the black shapes and hit "combine" (the icon looks like two boxes overlapping and should show up next to your grouping tools) or Ctrl L.

I use both methods listed above, trim or combine shapes. Here's a compound path for Illy users. You may have to turn it all black or something first......
