how do they do it?

Hey everyone.

With all the football bowl games on this month it got me to thinking. How do they letter fields with artificial / field turf? Watching the Sugar Bowl the other night there was a huge logo in the center of the field and the end zones were lettered. Is there a way to "unzip" what needs to be changed and then replace as needed? On grass fields I assume painting and repainting would be the only way to go.

I ran across that when trying to find pictures to explain to a coach how the stencils worked. If you pay attention the video is a step-by-step instruction video on how to paint any field.
