how do you store the transparencies that you've already printed??

we typically keep the transparency for every job printed

right now we're using large clear plastic folders with plastic hooks and its fine for clients that have only one or two designs in their folder, but its a horrible solution for the many clients that have more than 10 transparencies because it starts to hang heavy on the plastic hooks and eventually fall....

i was just wondering how everyone stores theirs???

thanks in advance,
angie

I always stored my transparencies in manila envelopes with the job name labeled on them and then put envelopes in file folders by client in a filing cabinet. Never had a problem finding, storing, or using them.

We talked about keeping transparencies once, but since they are so easy for us to print, we don't bother. When we were talking about it though the leading idea was to roll them into the cardboard tubes from your vinyl rolls and stack those against a wall. You could make a grid system for figuring out which tube to look in, or tape the job number across the front.

I have a big pile in the darkroom. When it gets to big I take the bottom few inches and throw them away. I would need a library in order to store all them things. Not very often I have to pull a old pattern to redo a screen. And generally its near the top of the pile if its current, If its old they always want a update anyway.

If its a cataloged screen the trans go with it in a envelope on the storage racks.
