how do youMarkup sign components

I am setting up a new pricing template and am not sure what the correct way to do this is. When quoting a new LED sign box build I have taken all the different components such as extrusion, frame, LED's etc. now I have a percentage I markup at but should I take the cost to build the sign and mark it up or do I markup each component that is used?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

(components X 2) + (fabrication labor X labor rate) would be a good place to start

I used to estimate times and apply my shop rate to that, then added materials times 2 or 3.

I've recently simplified that to materials times 4.
