How I spent the long weekend!

What a beautiful long weekend it was! Sunny, hot and very, very productive! We moved into our new home a week ago and after getting everything inside pretty much settled (except for our office), we decided to tackle the back yard. So, Saturday we built a 12' x 22' deck so we didn't have such a huge step down from the door! :Big Laugh That was pretty much a full day project with around 800 screws being used! :omg:

Sunday was reserved for building a smaller (8' x 10') shed deck and building the 8' x 10' shed we had purchased from Costco. Anyone ever put one of these things together? Well, you need more than a day!!! We had the walls and floor done on Sunday, and a lot of the roof frame construction ready to go. We completed the roof and finishing touches on Monday morning. Then we did a couple truck-loads from our old house garage and storage to bring stuff to fill the new shed! Next year we will build a garage behind the fence, but the shed will have to do for now.

Every muscle in my body is awake today, I have around 20 cuts and nicks on my hands, and I pulled around 6 nice slivers out, but we are very proud of our long weekend accomplishments! :clapping::clapping:

I built a 10X10X10 shed last year on this weekend. Best move I ever did. I had about $1,100 in it, it was a kit from Lowes. I haven't ever had to rent a storage unit, and it's right in my back yard. I did the math and if it only lasts three more months, I've broken even w/ renting a storage unit. People don't realize how much they dump on those things.

Nice, congrats on the move. Always good to have a deck, especially if there's a door that's not near the ground. Had to be about 10 years ago by now, I was at a party and needed some fresh air and walked out the back door... and :omg: fell about 5 feet wile e. coyote style and did a face plant on the ground. Luckily it wasn't just dirt, the ground was covered in those little grey rocks people put in their dirt driveways. :banghead: Ah, good times. :toasting:
