I recently had to re-install wall graphics at a firehouse, customers stated that the wall had been painted 6 weeks prior, (not entirely sure that was true 
) but there was still an odor of paint in the room. Sure enough, the corners started peeling. Waited another 8 weeks before trying a second time, smooth sailing.
Be absolutely sure that the paint is finished off-gassing. I'd say 6-8 weeks. Also, make sure its not that new washable wall paint, it has a pretty significant silicone content to prevent things from bonding to it.
