I am really not sure how Flexi saves information but I have been burnt many times by re printing a portion of a file and leaving the room only to come back later and still find the machine printing.
It seems to save the amount you initially requested sometimes and other times it does not.
naturally it could not be on cheap banner or vinyl....

really burns me cause it's all my fault.

Once again the demons of multi tasking hit hard!!!

After wasting enough material i guess i have learned. Check ... double check ... triple check !!!!!! All the settings before you hit the cut or print command. I also hit the origin set button on my plotter or printer about 2 or 3 times before i start anykind of production.

I know your pain. :frustrated:

perfect example this morning, although it was not a repeat function...

I had just printed a new file for a repeat customer and I saved it after I had sent it out to rip and print. I then opened an existing file that I have printed many times and when I sent it to rip and print I looked at the settings and they were still the same as the previous job and did not change to how this file has been printed many times in the past. The resolution was wrong and so was the pass count.

Can anyone explain how it is that sometimes when opening a previously saved file everything comes in exactly the weay you saved it and other times it uses the defaults from the previous print from a completly different file?
man this really burns me.

You mean just today or in the last 15 years? I'm not sure I can count that high. What burns me more often are files an old employee set up. He was too lazy to reset the pressure on his plotter, he adjusted it through Production Manager for the entire three years he worked here. Now anytime we pull up a file he did to copy a logo or layout we get burned. I've cut half rolls of vinyl before realizing that the pressure is set so low the blade is barely scratching the surface.

I guess I should be thankful I use Signlab to cut lol. Mind you I have never used the software to determine cut pressure, just the cutter itself. heck I didn't even know you could do that lol

Yeah .. I always set my blade force on the cutter itself.

If you save your flexi file after you sent it to the printer i think Flexi saves the output information also. If you just save the file, then print, then close it Flexi will not have that info and will only remember the last job's settings. This is from my experience.

And here I thought I was the only one... but yes I've got burned quite a few times.... And I've learned just like others, to check, double check, and triple check.

I never save flexi files for that reason. Everything is reset with cut lines, and quantities after each job.

i hate flexi.
