how sp 540v go to sp 540i

What you need to upgrade sp 540v to sp540i ,is there any hardware changing or just a firmware.

The two machines are completely different. It is not possible to upgrade. While they use the same heads, many key electronic and mechanical components are non-interchangeable.

The big difference is that the i series has Roland Intelligent Pass Control, an anti-banding technology that allows you to use some of the faster modes a little more often without the risk of banding. The i is also a much newer machine, and in fact is still a current model. If you're looking for a big step up in production though, I'd look to a VS series or an XR-640.
