How to import missing fonts into PDF

Hi,
I need some help please. Awhile ago someone posted a method of bringing in a PDF file with missing fonts into Illustrator, where you could convert them to outlines (intact). I forget how. Thanks, Tim

go into file...place, import the file, then flatten, convert all to outlines set to 100 and thats it.......think i remembered correctly.

Sounds about right. If you try to open the pDF in illustrator it will ask you for the fonts (if missing)

if you place it, it just places the whole PDF.
