How to...In Inkscape???

Ok, I'm sure this is simple and I thought I had done it before but I can't figure it out now for the life of me. How do I take the text and make it fit in the shape in inkscape. The shape is going to be a semi trailer and I need it to look like the text is wrote down the side of it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. And I'm already aware there is better programs for this kind of work I just can't afford any right now.

a large hammer applied with some degree of dexterity to the right upper quadrant of text "could" possibly be of assistance.

OH, and perhaps a drop shadow added to the simulated bevel lettering would improve the visual acuity for the potential viewer of your creative genius.

I only use Illustrator and I understand what you're attempting to do and I think it will only spell trouble.

The distortion and compression of the text (especially on the right side of the shape) will render it practically illegible.

If I were you, I'd try to talk the customer into something different.
