How to increase workshop productivity?

Has anyone considered missing tools might not really be missing but stolen instead?

I'm always fascinated by the stories of theft from my business owner friends. My sister has fired more people than I can count for theft at her daycare over the last 17 years, including her #1 employee and good friend.

Just a thought..
After I fired a painter we had here, our toilet paper buying slowed way down. I always had a feeling that he was taking it because there is no other way we could go through so much. I caught him putting a 5 gallon jug of water in his truck one day, he was taking them home and then bringing back the empties. The amount of drinking water we go through now also is much less so he was probably still doing it even after I got on him for doing it but being more careful about getting caught.

That's covid related...... all the way. One of the top symptoms of it. Good thing he didn't work at a grocery store or they'd be outta milk and bread for making french toast.

That's funny! My brother in law does marketing for a grocery chain and he was JUST talking about all the theft they have. He said something that surprised me..."The biggest thieves are the elderly, and they don't even try to apologize or cover it up. They say ya, so what or they ignore you!" He said they rarely bother anymore trying to stop them, they have no shame. Notarealsignguy - this will be your ex-painter when he's elderly lol

Put glass doors on the stalls and entry to the bathroom.
Employees get in and out of there real quick when they glance up from their phones and see someone watching them.
I put a fan in our employee restroom a few months ago. I was real close to ducting it back at head level right next to the toilet haha. Same idea but glass might speed it up even more
