Howto add a outline on translucent with small overlay?

Hello,

I am using FlexiBasic 6.6v.1 (yes yes i know its ancient) and also have Adobe CS3. I am going to be installed red translucent lettering and want to add a think black outline on the letters. How would i go about making sure that the outline overlaps the red slightly. I do not see this option when i add a outline in Flexi. I would like to accomplish this in either FlexiBasic or Adobe Illustrator.

I figured it out. I was able to export my design from Flexi into a AI file and then in AI i was able to add a stroke outline in center format and then i reopened my file in Flexi and cut from there. For some reason, my ancient version of Flexi cannot accomplish this.
