HP 310 Install Not Going So Good...

Had our tech onsite yesterday installing our new 310. Powered it up and it printed great for about 10 feet of vinyl and suddenly stopped with a black ink leak error. Now we have an HP service tech having to come on site to replace some parts. Sounds like they are having a bunch of the same issues with other 310 owners... sounds like they are receiving faulty parts from their manufacturer.

Great stuff -- hope I just didn't buy a lemon...

One of the techs I was talking to made it sound like having ruptured ink pouches in the cartridges is a fairly common thing in the Latex printers -- going back to the very first models. This is something I'm just hearing. What are your experiences?

The black ink tank in my printer was swelled up like a balloon because the printer was pumping too much air into the cartridge. We caught it just in time before it ruptured and spilled ink all over the place...

I know this problem just with the 300s. I'm working for a dealer in switzerland, and we assemble every printer in our workshop before delivery. Because of a warning we have got from HP in april every 300-Latex will be filled with ink with the left cover removed to have a look on that parts. Never done that with the older models.

HP tech came out and replaced the part that was leaking. HP was aware that they had an issue with the part. Once the part was replaced the printer has been working great. It is smoking fast....
