HP 3600 Latex printer

Does anyone have a HP 3600 Printer in here? We have just received one about a month ago, and are having nothing but issues with it. So if anyone has one of these, please let me know I have a few questions about this machine.

Do you mean Latex 360? Only 3600 I see is a desktop Laser printer.

EDIT: Sorry, I now see there is a 3600 Latex....that's the big boy printer. Can't help ya there! If you've had it only a month I would assume your dealer rep would provide help or service info.

I've had a tech out every week, for atleast 1day. Last week. 4 days. Still no resolution

HP direct tech's. When printing, the material tends to walk left and right on the take up,tthen the head ends up crashing cause of it. We use the guide rulers on the front and back to line up the take up. We're around: .2-.4mm skew. A d it still does it. Sometimes it prints fine for hours , then all of a sudden walks

Are you using the Tension Bar?

I always make sure both ends of the media are flush and even on the RH Side.
Then 2 or 3 strips of tape to the take up core and then drop the tension bar to the media.

If I am using psa vinyl then I use a 1" piece of tape that will be long enough to
stay attached to the take up core when I lower the tension bar into position.

The youtube videos call the tension bar "(the dancer bar)
The HP tech support personnel call it the dancer bar too.

When the media has wrapped the take up core twice, and the edge guards on the platen do not need any final adjustment, I can then let the printer run and I can then work on something else

We have used the bar, and we have not used the bar. Less "dancing" with out the bar, but still issues...

Oh that's a non-issue. That's something HP builds in to ALL their printers, an added bonus feature, shall we say, to their current line of Latex printers. I deal with this on our little old 560.

I have a 360, and a 570! i have issues depending on the media with the 360, but no issues on the 570

Is material centered? How many pieces of tape on tur? Use one in middle. manually wind 1 full rotation before engaging tur.

did the tech have to install the tur or did it come installed? It may need to be Re-aligned

yes material is centered. I put a piece of tape in the center and both ends, sometimes i run full length double sided tape to the paper and core. i've done a few different amounts of windings. The whole machine came in pieced and was assembled on site. ive had techs come out and drop the machine to the floor and do a full releveling, and laser aligning. they also replaced the center support piece for the dual roll.

Yes, i have adjusted them, i also created to icc profiles for each material. Ive used the generics, and created ones specific for it. I have used our PVC material, non-woven paper, SAV. they all do it. the techs came out and had HP SAV material sent here to do testing and again same issues. single and dual, doesnt make a difference still does it.

Sure does! The issue when using slitters, the trim underlaps the print after a bit, then causes the edges to build up higher and really shift the media. So being that i have to trim all of my prints (thats why we bought this machine cause of the slitters) i created a vac system to suck out all the trim and dispose of it to prevent this from happening. but the media still dances back and fourth. It then causes head crashes cause theres less tension on one side Vs. the other.

Silly question. Was the machine bent or anything like that? My machine tracks fairly well nothing like you're describing. If its happening across a range of medias it has to be something on the machine.

Have you done a test to load a roll. Just send it forward like 10-20m then send it back and see if it tracks straight not during print but just moving the media?
