HP 5000 ink cart dead

Hello friends,

I have a couple of dead ink carts that still have ink in them. They were bought a while back and can't find receipt so dealer won't do anything for me. Anyone know of a solution to force the machine to use the carts with a bad chip, or something else that can be done? They are dye carts if this matters.

May I ask... what is a ink cart? Is that the cartridge? and what is the chip? Is that on the cartridge? Trying to search why I keep blowing a yellow printhead myself!

See the back of the cartridge, there is a small golden chip.
