HP 8000 vs VersaCamm 540

Hey Guys,

I've been tasked with comparing the HP 8000 versus a VersaCamm vp540 and make the buying decision. Most of my work will be in house = banners and some vehicle wraps. My main areas of interest is regarding the 4 color Roland setup vs. the 6 color HP. With the pricing so comparable, I'm somewhat on the fence. I seem to get the same level of support (and propaganda) from both vendors, so warranty and help isn't necessarily a deciding factor.

All outdoor signage will be laminated.
Print speed is not an issue.
RIP bundled with the Roland is Versaworks, while the HP will be supplied with Onyx.

The HP rep is preaching that the mild solvent ink will hold to substrates better than the eco-solvent used in the Roland.

I've demo'ed the Versacamm SP540 but haven't found an HP around to check out.

thanks!
