Hi, I am new to the sign making business but I got a great deal on a HP designjet 2500cp printer. Does anyone know a little bit about the printer? It did not come with a cd driver ,so I have to down load it but I am having trouble finding it and do i need a program to run it. I have a vinyl printer already for 8yrs and I use flexisign . Can I use that program after installing the driver ? Any info would be appreciated . Thanks Kathy

I have a graphtec jx2100 which runs the hp 2500 ink set.
Absolutely useless as a printer due to high ink/printhead costs and specialist materials (water based) which do not work even when laminated.
I would walk away from this money pit.
The only good thing about the graptecs version is the plotter was quite good and is still in use.

The printer is old and extremely slow. I think it has a PS rip built in that is slow. The print speed is slow. The slowness is more of a big deal than you think. It could take a half hour to RIP a 100mg file. You need to laminate everything. I hope you didn't spend a lot of money.
